David H. Keller got his first position as a psychiatrist working with mentally disturbed people in 1915, in a hospital in Illinois. In 1917 he joined the US Army Medical Corps, and became an early expert in the diagnosis and treatment of shell shock. I have as yet no further information on his military service.
